How To Build An Underground Shelter

In uncertain times, or even in times when everything seems calm and peaceful most people don’t think about underground survival shelters but there is always the chance that some type of long term catastrophe could occur. This is not to say that people need to go around worrying about what will happen in the next minute, hour or day, but it does mean that individuals and families should seriously think about how they could survive if something dramatic and life changing was to occur and an underg

Earthbag Building: The Tools, Tricks and Techniques (Natural Building Series)

Over 70 percent of Americans cannot afford to own a code-enforced, contractor-built home. This has led to widespread interest in using natural materials—straw, cob, and earth—for building homes and other buildings that are inexpensive, and that rely largely on labor rather than expensive and often environmentally-damaging outsourced materials.Earthbag Building is the first comprehensive guide to all the tools, tricks, and techniques for building with bags filled with earth—or earthbags. Question by duck: How can I build a metal shop on top of a underground house.?
The house could be beside the shop with the front door of the house in the shop.

Best answer:

Answer by Rhonda T
So the metal shop is going to be above ground and the house (living area, I presume) is underground. The front door of the house in the shop…that implies a doorway leading to the stairway that takes you downstairs to the underground house. It’s like building a house above ground, turning it into a shop, and converting the basement into the “house” or general living area.

A Look at underground living 2012 in 2012 Underground Shelter Project part 16 of 16

underground living 2012:

This is a 16 part series trying to give people a look at whats going on in the world. Sometimes people aren’t able to connect the dots , sometimes they don’t care to. Or sometimes they just aren’t able to find all the information in one place. This is some of the events I see building up to 2012 at which time I strongly believe the world is going to be put in a state of Chaos by astronomical events, maybe solar or a combination of things begining with the alignment. You can call me what ever you want, but all the great profits from around the world that never knew each other or their works seem to all have the same visions about 2012, that not just something we should look past. There has never been a date in time where so many events are possible, events that may change everything we know. The Ancients have been telling us this since that last catoclysim. Read the facts, do your own homework, study before you run your mouth as I have studied none stop for 4 years now, I watch the trends, I look at the signs, I READ constantly, I compair notes, I look at the flakes version of things and I look at the scientists version of things and somewhere in the middle is where you find your answers. Don’t be affraid to learn new things, what we have been taught in those really expensive text books are NOT always right. There has been a grose scientific coverup of Anthropology,Geneology, specially archeology in general, because no body wants to have to rewrite history and God knows

A bit of a tour around the motel! More shaky camera work so not for the easily nauseated. The first shot is of hundreds of flies outside the window at night that were trying to get to the light. It was pretty crazy.

Question by original: I have a question about the Apocalypse underground shelters? (A.K.A 2012)?
Okay was just reading this thing online were they show you a tour of a shelter they made and it cost 10 million dollars to get in. At first I was a little scare because there is no way that I can afford to live in one and my family. But then it got me thinking, if its a shelter to survive the end of the world then why ask for 10 million dollars? What can you possibly buy if everyone is dead and what will the money be good for?

all of this sounds like a big scam

but I want your opinion

ps. this is were I read about the underground shelter

nah you said exactly the right amount… its a tough call because first of all… you got to make sure there is no mold or mildew growing down there before you decide to do anything to that area as far as finishing it off… You need to make sure you eliminate any mold spores which can be toxic over time and some are known to cause cancer. If there is a chronic issue down there you might need to tear out the walls to eliminate the problem.

You should have had it inspected by an environmental company BEFORE you buy it! In fact, if its not too late I would hold off on signing on the purchase until after you have it tested for mold and mildew. Sure, it might cost you a small bit of money but in the long run you might wind up saving thousands of dollars or pounds (whatever your countries currency). NOT TO MENTION SOME SERIOUS HEADACHES. Mold will quickly migrate into most building materials including cement and plastic, plaster, fresh paint, sheetrock, wood, rubber. So it potentially could just become a huge problem later on.

Often sellers will not inform buyers if there was a previous mold or mildew problem. They can knock down the problem temporarily (months to a year) by applying a bleach or clorine wash and then the spores that are deep ceded will eventually start a come back and next thing you know you got a serious cost and health issue. Basements are notorius for their mildew and mold issues because of their high humidity, poor air circulation and flooding. Be wise and know before you go.
